A substance or article is a dangerous good if it is listed in the Australian Dangerous Goods (ADG) Code. There are 9 classes of Dangerous Goods, as below:
- Class 1 (explosives)
- Class 2 (gases)
- Class 3 (flammable liquids)
- Class 4 (flammable solids; substances liable to spontaneous combustion; substances which, on contact with water emit flammable gases)
- Class 5 (oxidising substances and organic peroxides);
- Division 6.1 (toxic substances)
- Class 8 (corrosive substances)
- Class 9 (miscellaneous dangerous substances and articles)
- Class 3 (flammable liquids)
DIFOT - Delivered In Full On Time

This is one of the metrics that Shippers often rate performance on. If the Carrier delivers an order on or before the requested delivery date entered in the Ofload platform, it would be classed as a DIFOT hit. Anything delivered later than the requested delivery date would be classed as a DIFOT miss.

The shipment requires the full space of a container.
FTL - Full Truckload

The Shipper requires the entire truck/trailer and therefore has a dedicated service. These orders do not need to be split up at a carrier depot, and will travel from the pick-up site to the delivery site with no additional stops.

A fuel levy is a surcharge calculated to account for regional/seasonal variations in fuel costs. Ofload has a calculation for fuel levy which is aligned to the National Average from the Australian Institution of Petroleum (AIP).
Futile

This is a charge that is applied when a transport operator has attempted to pick-up or deliver a shipment but is unable to perform this task due to a change in the originally quoted booking. Some examples of this would be:
- The driver arrives, but the pick-up address that was provided is incorrect.
- The driver arrives within the site hours provided, but the site is closed.
- The driver arrives, but is told by the collection site that the order is cancelled or won't be ready until another day.

The shipment is a smaller volume and does not require the entire container.
LTL - Less than Truckload

The shipment is a smaller volume and does not require an entire truck. When booking an LTL order, the Shipper requires space on the truck, rather than the whole trailer/s.

The route between pick-up and delivery. This can be a major city or specific suburb. An example of a lane would be Sydney to Melbourne, or Aubury to Geelong.
